The Experience

Join us for the event of the century: the 100th Burning of Zozobra. This revered Santa Fe tradition features the ceremonial burning of a towering 50-foot marionette effigy named Zozobra, symbolizing profound gloom and despair. Laden with thousands of symbolic "glooms" such as divorce papers, parking tickets, and remnants of past relationships, the effigy is set ablaze in a transformative ritual. This year, Bishop’s Lodge has teamed up with the event’s organizer, the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe, to offer resort guests an exclusive Zozobra experience. Guests can enjoy panoramic views from a newly added elevated platform at the prestigious south end of the venue, providing an unobstructed, wide-angle vista of the thrilling festivities, which include the first-ever drone show and an extraordinary fireworks display.
